🌶️ Chana Masala (Classic)

Hearty, comforting, and bursting with spice—Chana Masala is one of the most beloved vegetarian dishes from India. Tender chickpeas simmered in a tomato-onion gravy with warming spices make it the ultimate comfort food, perfect with rice, naan, or even tucked into wraps.




✨ Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas (or 1 can, drained & rinsed)

  • 2 Tbsp oil

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tomatoes, pureed (or 1 cup canned tomatoes)

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1-inch ginger, grated

  • 1 green chili, slit (optional for heat)

  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (farm fresh 🌿)

  • 1 tsp Ground Coriander (farm fresh 🌿)

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish







👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.

  2. Stir in onion, ginger, and garlic. Sauté until golden.

  3. Add pureed tomato and cook down until thick.

  4. Sprinkle in ground coriander, turmeric, and salt. Cook 2 minutes.

  5. Add chickpeas + ½ cup water, simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. Stir in garam masala, adjust seasoning, and finish with fresh coriander.
