Bright, tangy, and golden—this Turmeric Lemon Rice is more than just a side dish, it’s a celebration of flavor and wellness. Perfect for pairing with curries, grilled meats, or even enjoyed on its own, this dish showcases the sunny vibrance of turmeric with a zesty lemon twist.

✨ Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice

  • 2 cups water (or light vegetable broth)

  • 1 Tbsp oil (coconut or sunflower works best)

  • ½ tsp mustard seeds

  • 1 lemon (juice + zest)

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander (cilantro) for garnish

  2. In a pan, heat oil. Add mustard seeds, let them crackle. Toss in green chili and curry leaves.

  3. Lower the heat, sprinkle in turmeric powder and stir quickly so it blooms without burning.

  4. Add the cooked rice to the pan, gently mixing until every grain glows golden.

  5. Squeeze in fresh lemon juice, add zest, and season with salt.

  6. Garnish with coriander and serve warm.
